Meet Jeff Caves
Jeff Caves is the Senior Craftsman and President at Caves Millwork. At 15, he built a catamaran sail boat without plans; at 19, he built his first kitchen independently; and after graduating from RIT, Jeff made a commitment to carry on the Caves woodworking tradition. Nearly 20 years later, Jeff continues that tradition founded on treating every customer with respect and
courtesy.

I was a pretty lucky kid growing–up. My family owned a couple of “old-time” lumberyards,
each with their own millwork and cabinetry departments. I was, of course, drawn to those cabinetry shops, and mesmerized by how the highly skilled craftsman would build and
construct things. As a project would come into the shop, I would watch the conversations between the skilled craftsman and a homeowner. Working through their new kitchen design, they would discuss the cabinetry style, the customer's needs and how best to match the character of their home. The master carpenter would then build, from scratch, beautiful
cabinetry in painstaking detail. The “one on one” relationship between the homeowner and the company’s skilled craftsman was the key to a perfect finished project each and every time.
Now, thirty years later, many people believe this tradition has been lost. Not at Caves Millwork.
